Reports from France state that Paris Saint-Germain wants to sign Fiorentina center-back Lucas Martinez Quarta. The club from the capital city has limited time to strengthen their central defense before the January transfer window ends.

The team is seeking to bolster their defensive lineup as Presnel Kimpembe and Milan Skriniar have been out for an extended period, nearing the end of the January transfer window.

L’Equipe reports (h/t Football Italia) that PSG wants to sign Martinze Quarta this month. Manager Luis Enrique likes the defender’s competitive nature and skill with the ball.

The 27-year-old player’s contract with Fiorentina will end in June 2025. Premier League clubs and Napoli are also interested in signing him. Fiorentina is determined to keep Martinez Quarta, so only a compelling offer would persuade them to allow the Argentine center-back to depart this month.

Despite almost moving to Real Betis in the summer, Martinez Quarta has shown his importance to Vincenzo Italiano’s Fiorentina team this season. The 27-year-old has scored five goals in 23 games and played a significant role in the attacking and defensive aspects of the game.
