Texas Longhorns Land New Commitment From 3-Star Offensive Lineman
Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Over the past couple of years, Steve Sarkisian and the Texas Longhorns’ football program have been building perfectly to get back to being serious National Championship contenders. After a period of time where the Longhorns simply weren’t taken very seriously, the program has been completely turned around.

Sarkisian has built well through both high school recruiting and the transfer portal. Everything about college football has changed with the transfer portal, but it has been a very positive change for the Longhorns.

On Monday, the Longhorns were able to add another key commitment. This time, they added an offensive lineman to their 2025 recruiting class.

Texas Longhorns Land New Commitment From 3-Star Offensive Lineman

According to a post on X from three-star offensive lineman Jackson Christian, he has decided to commit to play college football at Texas.

Christian, hailing from Port Neches-Grove, chose the Longhorns over plenty of other top-notch schools. In addition to Texas, he had offers that he was mulling from Texas A&M, SMU, Texas Tech, Colorado State, Houston, and North Texas.

Standing in at 6-foot-5 and 290 pounds, Christian is a massive and intimidating presence on the line. He became the first offensive lineman to commit to the Texas Longhorns in the 2025 recruiting class.

Other names that have committed to the Longhorns in the class are quarterback K.J. Lacey, running back Rickey Stewart, tight end Emaree Winston, defensive tackle Brandon Brown, linebacker Elijah Barnes, and edge rusher Lance Jackson.

Prior to landing Christian, the Longhorns held the No. 10 ranked recruiting class in the nation for 2025, according to On3 Team Recruiting Rankings. His commitment will certainly help them continue rising in those rankings.

In another piece of recruiting news for the Texas Longhorns, they will learn of the decision on fellow 2025 target and four-star running back James Simon on May 29th. Landing Simon would be another big step for the future of the Texas offense.

All of that being said, this is a great move for Sarkisian and the Longhorns. Christian will give them another big body and big-time potential on what has become a year-in and year-out dominant offensive line.
